Innovative cooling systems after thermal treatment

To prevent the re-formation of germs after thermal treatment and before packaging, we offer cooling systems for food.

With this in mind, we have developed cooling systems that are adapted to the different properties of the products to be treated.

They have been specially designed to meet the high requirements for food safety and hygiene:

FoodSafety-Rotary Cooler (FS-RC) – especially for sensitive foods

With the FS-RC cooling rotary drum, KREYENBORG offers an ideal cooling solution for sensitive foodstuffs, such as spices, herbs, small-grain seeds, teas, dried vegetables, dried fruits, which have previously been treated by our infrared technology (FoodSafety-IRD).

Throughput: 40 kg/h to 2,000 kg/h, depending on bulk density.

The product is gently treated in the horizontal rotary drum and conveyed from the inlet to the outlet and cooled at the same time. The spirals and mixing elements matched to the product ensure optimal mixing.

During mixing and conveying, the material is cooled with a targeted air intake, depending on the product and process requirements. The hot and humid air is discharged through a vent. For products that require intensive cooling, the rotary drum shell of our cooling system can also be cooled from the outside as an option.

Due to the slow and controlled rotary movement, the stress on the product is reduced to a minimum, which makes the FS-RC ideal for sensitive products. This continuous work process guarantees first-in/first-out of the material and changes the surface of the product several times.

Another major advantage is the ease of cleaning of the FS-RC, which drastically reduces the downtime for cleaning. The cooling section can optionally be used as a coating section for your product, e.g. salts, flavors, colorants, etc. can be introduced into the product.

Heat exchangers, cyclones and conveyor belts can be integrated into our cooling system.

FoodSafety-Belt Cooler (FS-BC) – for coarse-grained foods

The FS-BC belt cooler has been specially developed for coarse-grained foods such as nuts and seeds, which must be cooled to ambient temperature - optionally also further cooled down. The effective ventilated construction allows for quick and even cooling of the products.

Throughput: 500kg/h to 2,000kg/h, depending on bulk density.
