Technology for odor reduction of post-consumer plastics

In the household environment, a large amount of plastic waste from packaging is generated every day. In order to achieve high-quality plastic recyclates from these post-consumer material streams and to be able to make them usable again for high-quality applications, odorous substances that have migrated into the material in the course of the product's life must be reduced. These odorous substances cannot be adequately reduced by the recycling processes used to date.

With the IR-FRESH® system, KREYENBORG has developed a high-performance, innovative and cost-effective technology for the deodorization of post-consumer plastics – such as HDPE, LDPE, PP, PVC, PE, PS, PA, TPE. Our system is also ideal as a retrofit solution for existing extrusion lines. This development marks a significant step forward in plastics recycling and offers new opportunities to obtain high-quality recyclates from everyday plastic waste.
