Infrared light for germ reduction in grains, seeds, cereals - Suitable for organic products

Food safety and stock protection with energy-efficient, fast and gentle infrared technology

Seeds such as sesame or flaxseed from different growing regions can have high germ loads due to climatic conditions and processing. In the case of animal feed, there are often eggs, larvae and insects that nest in the goods. Reliable germ reduction and effective stock protection are essential for industry and trade, both for the shelf life and for the further processing and trade of food.

The plant manufacturer Kreyenborg from Germany has declared war on these germs and insects. Using a patented infrared rotary drum, pumpkin or sunflower seeds, cereals, grains or animal feed are freed from contamination without affecting the taste, appearance or consistency of the products. The natural process with infrared is energy-efficient, fast and gentle on the product compared to other processes.

Each product gets exactly the amount of infrared light that is necessary to achieve the desired result, e.g. sterilization or pasteurization, drying, roasting or stock protection. The system is individually tailored to the product and the needs of the farmers, processors or retailers. This is preceded by extensive tests. Kreyenborg has now carried out more than 10,000 tests and individual analyses with a wide variety of products. In addition, the germ reduction (including 5-log) by the infrared rotary drum has been validated several times by independent, accredited laboratories.

Kreyenborg produces tailor-made individual components or entire process plants based on infrared technology for the food industry, including organic producers. In addition to conveyor belts, mixers and silos for further processing and storage of seeds or grain, this also includes components for the cooling process after thermal treatment - one of the most important factors of many to prevent renewed germination. The facilities are suitable for organic products.
