Applications

Heating, Crystallizing, Drying

Efficient heating, crystallization and drying of plastics in a single step

The infrared rotary drum (IRD) is an innovative technology for the plastics industry to heat, crystallize and dry polymers such as PET, PET with PE, PLA, ABS and other plastics in a single step. Commonly used in inline production, the IRD efficiently processes a wide range of materials, including flakes, granules and spherical pellets.

Our technology is characterized by significantly lower energy consumption compared to conventional drying methods, as energy is introduced directly into the material. The process takes only minutes, so materials can be processed immediately. With immediate production start and the possibility of an immediate system stop without material loss, the IRD offers highly efficient processing. The gentle internal heating of the material guarantees an even and high-quality treatment. The continuous process allows for easy handling and fast product changeovers. In addition, the IRD enables crystallization and drying in one step and increases the throughput of the system. The plant is suitable for a wide range of plastic applications, including flakes, granules, PET bottles, regrind fibers, post-consumer rPET, flexible films, master batch, fibers, packaging tapes, biopolymers, engineering plastics and compounds.
