KP Linpac purchases a third IRD from KREYENBORG and expands its production of food packaging

If Post Consumer Recycling Materials are to be processed directly into PET Sheet, with a process authorized by FDA or by EFSA is an indispensable solution required. With its IR-CLEAN® System, KREYENBORG now offers an attractive and low-cost alternative for Post-Consumer Materials and direct decontamination processing of PET – without any kind of vacuum technology.

The challenge:
The two components, PTFE (known under the brand name Teflon®) and SAN (styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer) are combined into one product in this process. The PTFE / SAN mixture has a high stickiness and clumps very fast.

Our process:
PTFE and SAN are “combined” by using KREYENBORG IRD (Infrared Rotary Drum) to form a product under the influence of heat and permanent and careful mixing.

Increasing Output and Improving Quality in PET extrusion by combining highly efficient degassing extruders and flexible, efficient drying systems such as the KREYENBORG IRD Infrared Rotary Drum, to be able to utilize the full potential of such an extrusion line and to ensure the quality of the final product reliably. At the same time, increases in performance and efficiency are achievable, which will prove economic efficiency of such a retrofitting investment within a few months only.
