SELF CLEANING PRINCIPLE OF A CONVENTIONAL GEAR PUMP

The bearings of the KREYENBORG gear pump are lubricated with the polymer or medium which is being processed (self cleaning principle). With positive pressure differential, the pressure at the material outlet side of the pump is higher than the pressure at the material inlet side. The medium flows through the bearings and the recirculation channel inside the pump housing and then back to the material inlet side, thus lubricating the bearings with the medium in a cyclical method.
